| The Seiko SXD408 two-tone stainless steel women's watch is stylishly modern enough to boldly go with your most contemporary couture. It has a round silver stainless steel watch case that's highlighted by a bezel with a scalloped design and gold-tone accents. The dark blue dial background includes gold-tone stick dial markers, Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock, baton hands (with second hand), and a date function at 3 o'clock. The stainless steel bracelet band is composed of a mix of silver and polished gold-tone links, and it's joined by a push-button clasp. Other features include Japanese quartz movement, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet). |

This is my first Seiko - Was a real impulsive buy- this watch is really classy and all professional. The fact that its 2 toned with a black background it simply goes so well with any look, any accessory. The band really runs long - if your not handy in resizing watches be prepared to spend some money. Any Wal-Mart/ Target or even your watch stores won't do it for you as this watch is considered Jewelry. Need to find one who will do it for u for $15-20 as mentioned by the other reviewer. So add that to the cost of the watch - as the bracelet runs long.
The metal tone is not all shine - the matt finish makes it all elegant wear. I hope to have this for some time to come. I did not find any probs with the knob though. All five star for a great buy for this WOW so awesome price.

| Just the watch I was looking for to replace an old one just like it. I love the watch more than my old one. Because of Amazon's good prices, I only paid $5.00 more than 10 years ago. |
It is a Seiko.

The watch came on time, in a nice box. The price was better than other sites I shopped.
It was a Christmas present and the my wife loves it. The two tone band is very high quality, and
the blue face and gold case make for a classy looking watch.
I have a Seiko divers watch that I have punished for 12 years. It keeps perfect time. I almost
wish it would break so I could justify a new kinetic Seiko.
With the service and price I got from Amazon, I can not see buying any where else. |

I bought this as a present and it was at least $50 cheaper than I could find it at any local jewelery stores. You need to be a little bit handy to adjust the size of the band. But, as long as you don't get scared that you are going to destroy something, it is really a piece of cake to change the band length. You do have to use a some pressure to disengage the studs holding the links together and have a very small screwdriver or similar tool to use in the adjustment (you can find general directions on how to do this on the web using Google or another search engine. It will be for Seiko bracelet watch bands in general, not specifically for this watch.). If you aren't handy or don't trust yourself with tools, you could go to a jewelery store to get it fitted. They would probably charge a fee-- I would say $10 to $15 would be a fair price as it will probably take 10 to 15 minutes to complete the fit.
The watch works perfectly and came in original Seiko packaging. The price I paid from Amazon was $120 which was a good price. I saw a couple sites that were a little cheaper, but I have a lot of confidence in Amazon's integrity so saving an extra $10 didn't mean that much to me.
The only thing I did not like about the watch was the way the case was built around the adjustment knob. You have to pull out the adjustment knob one or two stops depending on whether you want to adjust the time or the calendar date-- this is true for most Seiko watches. The wings jutting out from the watch case make it somewhat difficult to pull out the knob. It can be done but you need some longer fingernails to make it easier. It is not a deal breaker but in my opinion the design would be just as nice without those little wings and it would have made adjustments easier. This was the only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars.
Overall I was very satified with this watch. It is well made and a nice piece of everyday jewelery. |
